INTO DEPTH

- Equalization Workshop, Capri -

24 - 25 - 26 July 2026

Inside the experience

This workshop takes place at Marina della Lobra, a small fishing village on the Sorrento Peninsula, tucked into a natural inlet with colourful houses, a quiet harbour, and direct views across to Capri.
It's the kind of place that still belongs to the people who live there - unhurried, genuinely beautiful, far from the tourist trail.

The water sessions happen in the Bay of Ieranto, a protected marine park accessible only by private boat - no charter boats, no crowds. The bay is sheltered from wind, offers serious depth, and has the kind of clarity and stillness that makes real learning possible.

This is a 3-day equalization workshop built for freedivers who want to stop guessing and start understanding.
We cover mouthfill, reverse packing, N-charge, and the mechanics that actually govern what happens in your ears as you descend. But this workshop isn't built on theory alone. The point is that you feel it - in your body, in the water, on the line. Equalization lives in the nervous system as much as it lives in technique, and that's exactly how we approach it here.

Dry sessions cover the mechanics in depth, with guided relaxation, breathing work, and somatic exercises designed to dissolve the layers of tension that block equalization from working the way it's supposed to. Three depth sessions in the bay follow - each one filmed, coached, and tailored to where you actually are.

Build real equalization in one of Italy's most beautiful bays: mouthfill, reverse packing, filmed dives, and the clarity that only comes from feeling it in your body.

The workshop is led by Ilaria Bosi - freediving coach and equalization trainer, with hundreds of Frenzels and mouthfills unlocked across students worldwide. Joining as local instructor is Antonio Mironi, who has operated in these waters for many seasons and knows every metre of this bay.

With a maximum of 6 participants,
2 instructors, and a large private boat, the water time is long, unhurried, and genuinely yours.

This is equalization taught with the clarity it has always deserved.

highlights

  • Equalization masterclass covering mouthfill, reverse packing, N-charge, and the full cascade - with real precision, not simplifications
  • Somatic and relaxation work as a foundation, not an afterthought: nervous system, tension patterns, and breath as pillars of equalization learning
  • 3 depth sessions in the Bay of Ieranto, a protected marine park with no charter access, serious depth, and exceptional visibility
  • Filmed skill-building dives with individual coaching on the line
  • Dry drills, personalized for each participant based on their current blocks and technique
  • Small group, 6 pax max, with 2 instructors and a large private boat built for full days at sea
  • Fun diving and exploration of the marine park after the depth sessions
  • Marina della Lobra as base - a genuine fishing village with views of Capri and the kind of quiet beauty that makes three days feel complete

Who this workshop is for

Freedivers between 20m and 60m who want to move through their current equalization blocks, build a real intrinsic understanding of what's happening at depth, and stop relying on hope as a strategy below 30 metres. If you've hit a ceiling that feels technical but also somehow mental - it probably lives somewhere in between, and that's exactly the territory we work in.

Marina della Lobra is a small, authentic fishing village in Massa Lubrense, on the Sorrento Peninsula. Nestled into a natural inlet, it has the unhurried feel of a place that tourism hasn't managed to flatten - coloured houses stacked above the harbour, citrus groves, the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Lobra above, and Capri sitting just across the water.
The depth sessions take place in the Bay of Ieranto, a short boat ride away: a marine protected area closed to charter traffic, with calm water and good depth. After the coached session, there's time to explore.

About the AREA

We've arranged a special group rate at a residence right on the marina - one of the best value spots in this stretch of coast in July, and we think it's a lovely place to land after a day in the water.
Our recommended accommodation sits directly on the waterfront at Marina della Lobra, with sea views, a breakfast terrace overlooking the harbour, and Capri visible from the balcony.
Rooms are clean, air-conditioned, and well kept. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Steps from where the boat departs, and a short walk to the restaurants in the village.

Full details shared on booking.

Rates (breakfast included):
  • Shared double/twin room: from €75 per person
  • Single room: €110 per person

ACCOMODATION

July on the Sorrento Peninsula means reliable sunshine, with daytime temperatures around 28–32°C and warm evenings. Sea surface temperatures in the bay typically sit around 25–27°C in late July - warm, comfortable, and perfect for long sessions in the water.

meet the hosts

Ila |  I'm Ilaria, a full-time freediving coach since 2020, with a specific focus on equalization - a discipline I entered because of how poorly it's taught, and stayed in because of how much it changes people's diving when it's approached properly. This workshop is the most concentrated version of that work: three days, small group, real depth, and the time to actually get to the bottom of what's blocking you. I'll be in the water with you on every session, filming your dives and working with you individually on the line.

Antonio Mironi | Antonio has been operating in these waters for many seasons and knows the Bay of Ieranto like few others do. His familiarity with the area - the depth, the conditions, the currents - means our sessions run smoothly and safely, with full attention on your diving rather than logistics.

FAQ

What exactly will we cover in the dry equalization session?

The masterclass goes through the mechanics of frenzel, reverse packing, N-charge and mouthfill in real depth - how they work, why they fail, and how to build the coordination your body needs to execute them reliably at depth. We use demonstrations, guided exercises, and individual diagnosis of where your current technique is breaking down. It's structured, precise, and built around actual understanding rather than checklist cues.

I'm not sure I'm deep enough for this - will I be able to follow?

Yes. The workshop is structured in layers, and every layer works regardless of your current depth. The breathing and relaxation sessions are beneficial for any freediver, full stop. The equalization masterclass applies to everyone - the mechanics of mouthfill and charge don't become relevant only at 40 metres, and understanding them clearly will change how you think about your dives at any depth. The practical drills and water sessions are fully personalized: each participant works on what their body and technique actually need, not a one-size programme. The depth sessions are coached individually on the line. Whether you're working at 20m or 55m, the dives are built around you.

How many participants are there?

Maximum 6. There are 2 instructors. This small size is intentional - it's the only way to give everyone genuine individual attention in and out of the water.

What gear do I need?

Mask, fins, wetsuit, weightbelt. If you need help sourcing or renting anything, get in touch and we'll point you in the right direction.

How do I get to Marina della Lobra?

The closest major hub is Sorrento, roughly 9km away by road. From Naples or Rome, you can reach Sorrento by train or bus, then taxi or local bus to Massa Lubrense / Marina della Lobra. If you're flying, Naples Capodichino is the nearest airport, about 60km away, then by bus or taxi. We're happy to help you coordinate if you have questions.

How do I reserve my spot?

A deposit of €400 is required to secure your place. The full balance is due 65 days before the start of the workshop. Before you pay, we offer a free 15-minute call to meet, answer any questions, and make sure it's the right fit.
